2025-10-21
International Data Week (IDW) 2025 was held from October 13 to 16, 2025, in Brisbane, Australia. The conference was jointly organized by the Committee on Data (CODATA) of the International Science Council, the World Data System (WDS), and the Research Data Alliance (RDA), and hosted by the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC). It brought together over 400 experts and scholars from more than 47 countries to engage in in-depth discussions under the theme "Data for Positive Change," exploring how to fully leverage the critical role of data in driving positive scientific transformation.

The CSTR team, in collaboration with DataCite, co-organized a session titled "Double Identification to Support Equitable Participation in Global Open Research." The session facilitated in-depth discussions on the role of DOI and CSTR linkage services in the open sharing of scientific data. Invited speakers included Xu Qi from the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dr. Satoko Fujisawa from the Japan Link Center (JaLC), who delivered thematic presentations and exchanged insights. This event effectively enhanced the visibility and influence of China's independent science and technology resource identifier, CSTR, on the international stage.

Additionally, the CSTR team was invited to attend the DataCite Connection Brisbane 2025 meeting, hosted by DataCite. Team member Liu Jia presented a report titled "CNIC – DOI in National Data Centers," while Wang Lijuan systematically shared practical applications of CSTR at the file and scientific dataset levels. The presentations, incorporating specific application cases of DOI within national science data centers, shared the team's practical explorations and reflections on identifier application and cross-identifier association, further demonstrating the active role of CSTR in promoting the interconnection and interoperability of global data infrastructure.
